About Our Camp
Arts Enter’s Summer Theatre Camps are multi-week day camps, designed to provide a creative theatrical experience for students ages 7-16. Camps are offered on a variety of themes including Creative Drama, Musical Theater, Arts & Crafts, and more. Campers will experience the theatrical process from start to finish as they work together to produce a musical theater performance. Their journey will include instruction in acting, singing, and dancing as well as how to put it all together to form strong characters for our performance from an experienced staff. Whether your child is going on stage for the first time or is a seasoned veteran, they will enjoy this camp and will end their experience with two performances on the Historic Palace Theatre stage. Arts Enter’s Summer Theatre Camps are a great way for kids to stretch their creative muscles, try something new, make friends, learn new skills, and work as an ensemble, all in the joyful spirit of summer. Soar away to Neverland in this magical adaptation drawn from the beloved novel with fresh, original music! The Darling children love to hear of Peter Pan’s adventures during his visits through the open window of the nursery. Then one night after Nana has taken his shadow and Wendy has sewn it back on, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell whisk the children off to Neverland to be part of the adventures. All your favorite characters are there, including Captain Hook and his pirate crew, Princess Tiger Lily and her tribe, and of course, the Lost Boys and Girls! A rousing and lovely musical score by the award-winning team of Rockwell and Bogart includes “The Boy Who Never Grew Up,” “Fly Me to Neverland,” “Follow the Leader,” and “Home Sweet Home.” You won’t have any trouble thinking happy thoughts when you see how surprising simple the staging is with no flying required and extensive production notes to make the multiple sets easy to create.

It’s time to get your gleek on! The Ethel Lampert Community Center has seen better days and may soon see its final days unless the teens, volunteers and staff find a way to save it. Some sleazy city council members want to bulldoze the place to redevelop and commercialize the neighborhood and bring them gobs of sales tax revenue, but that’s not stopping the teens who frequent the community center. From basketball players to computer nerds to artists, these down-on-their-luck inner-city kids have no place else to go, and losing the center would mean losing their home away from home. When they hear of a new television reality contest for glee clubs, they decide to form their own and try out. If they win top prize, they’ll earn enough money to keep the center open. But working together doesn’t come naturally for these tough, independent teens, and they’re not sure they’ll be able to pull it off, especially with a city council that’s bribing the egotistical celebrity judges, an annoyed (and annoying!) neighbor harping on them at every turn and a history of no one believing in them. Bursting with large rock and pop chorus numbers and a powerful, anthemic finale, this energetic, contemporary musical will bring out the gleek in everyone!
